On Horseback from Canada to South America

Craig and Mark and some friends talk about a horseback journey from Canada to South America.

Craig: One night Mark and I came up with an idea for a great trip. It started…we were talking about horses and…you know that I really love horses…and then we were also talking about South America and, you know…how…it would be cool to travel down to maybe Tierra del Fuego…you know, like…down there, like…a lot of the countryside is similar to Canada…like, it is beautiful…you know? You have rivers and lakes and mountains…like, you have…just incredible nature and you could ride for thousands of kilometers…you know, just on horseback…so we were talking about that, and came up with the idea of maybe actually starting in North America like maybe Canada or Alaska. There is already, like…there are actually old trails that go down…like from Canada down into the…you know, the heart of the States…and you could continue like all the way down through Central and South America, maybe on horseback.
Mark: If you got a lot of people on a horse, like, you could go from…you know, Winnipeg…like Winnipeg is in the middle…you could go down…
Craig: …Like follow the river routes down, like…you know, actually there was a father and son that I read about that; they went by canoe…actually from Winnipeg and they went all the way…
Mark: …to Louisiana?
Craig: Yeah….and then they went...like somehow they ended up like going I think down through to the Amazon and like they made their way all the way by river passage all the way to South America…so I mean you could do the same thing …like, on horseback…like, you know…find old trails like the Appalachian trail…and you know…down through North America at least…and then South America…
Mark: Yeah. You could get a big group of people like from all different countries who wanted to go on this journey and of course some people could go on the whole journey…and some people could meet…for two weeks or one week or one month, and you know…
Craig: And join in…join out…
Mark: Yeah…
Craig: And have it…I dunno, somehow documented…the trip on the web….you know?
