Episode 1 – The Curse of the Childless Father

The King of Kosala was a great hunter. He was able to hunt blind. He could locate his prey just by listening.

How is your hearing?

One day the king was hunting. He heard the sound of an elephant drinking. He fired towards the sound.

Have you ever fired a bow and arrow?

The king thought it was the sound of an elephant drinking. It was not really the sound of an elephant drinking. There was no elephant. It was a young boy.

Have you ever had a ride on an elephant?

The arrow struck a young boy. It killed him.

Do you have a son?

The father of the dead boy cursed the king. He said that the king would suffer the same pain. He said that the king would suffer the grief of a parent losing his beloved child.

Have you ever cursed anybody?

The R?m?ya?a is an ancient Sanskrit epic. It is ascribed to the Hindu sage Valmiki and forms an important part of the Hindu canon (sm?ti), considered to be itih?sa.[1] The Ramayana is one of the two great epics of India, the other being the Mahabharata.[2] It depicts the duties of relationships, portraying ideal characters like the ideal servant, the ideal brother, the ideal wife and the ideal king.
