The Pleasure Model’s Soliloquy

The Pleasure Model sat on a stool by the bar and began to sing. She sang so beautifully that the robot workers in the bar stopped talking and listened to her.

She sang or recited a kind of long poem which was like a cross between a song and a poem.

It was about knowledge and love.
It was about how learning things is exciting.
It was about the beauty of the mind and the eternity of the soul.

It was about perfection and curiosity.
It was about love and redemption.

It was so beautiful that everybody began to weep.

As soon she she came to the end of her song, the pleasure model got up and left the room. She smiled at me before she left then she wandered into Piano House, which was behind the bar.

She was staying at the same place as me.

the robot workers ..

I whispered to one of the robot workers at the window but he did not speak English.

That is Vortik‘s wife,” somebody said.

Abraham Vortik also lived at Piano House but he lived on the other side of the building in the long-term residents’ section. He was a robot engineer. He was very famous for designing new versions of robots which seemed more human than humans.

No wonder his wife was beautiful, He had probably designed her and built her himself and he was a robotics genius.

a sleepless night ..

Well good luck to him, I thought. I stumbled up to my room and lay on my back with my hands behind my head and stared at the ceiling for a long time before I went to sleep.

I could not get the pleasure model’ssoliloquy out of my mind.

I could not get it out of my mind.

I could not get her out of my mind.
