A man walked into a church.

There was an altar at the front of the church.

The man walked up to the altar.

He got down on his knees.
He kneeled down.

He prayed.
He began to pray.

The man was suffering.
He asked god to take away his pain.

He said: “May Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul”.

He repeated this phrase over and over again.

May Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul.
May Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul.
May Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul.
May Jesus Christ have mercy on my soul.

He repeated the same line.
He repeated the same line over and over again.

He said the same line over and over again.

It was a ten syllable line.

The man repeated it again and again and again.

The tears streamed down his cheeks.
The tears streamed down his cheeks as he prayed.

After while the man stood up.
He stood up and he walked out of the church.

He walked out of the church and back into the city.

He walked around the city.

He walked past houses and shops.
He walked under an archway.
He walked through a courtyard.
He walked along beside a stone wall.
He walked across a graveyard.

He paused in the graveyard.

He sat down next to a gravestone.
He wept.
He wept and wept and wept.

He repeated the same prayer over an over again.

He tried to pray without stopping.
